The Fat Tyre Crit is back in 2025 with a time trial on Saturday morning, April 26, at Walker Park, followed by the Fat Tyre Crit at 4:20pm in Downtown Athens on the Twilight Crit Course.

$25 from each entry goes to Live Like Ben, which among other projects, supported the renovation of the St. Mary's Mercy Guest House Cottage at Highland Hills Village. The St. Mary's Mercy Guest Cottage is a freestanding house that servces as a home-away-from-home for out-of-town families who have traveled to be near a loved one with the hopes that they find peace and refuge while being inspired to Live Like Ben!

Time trial course is approximately 5 miles long. Riders will start in one minute intervals starting at 9:00am and will do a single loop for qualifying time. After all registrants receive their first time, and after the first round, if riders would like to try for a second time, it will be available to them. The top 3 in each class qualify, plus top 50 finishers.

The Fat Tyre Crit at 4:20pm on Saturday is 10 laps around the 1-kilometer Downtown course, and lapped riders may be pulled. Staging for the crit will be at the corner of Thomas and Washington Streets.

Packet pick-up is at Registration in the 100 Block of College Avenue on Friday, April 25 from 5:00-9:00pm. Registration opens at 8:00am Saturday, April 26 on-site. Entry is $45 prior to online registration closing, $50 if registering on Friday night, and $55 day-of.
