About the event:
KIDS ZONE
From 10AM til 4PM the Twilight Kids Zone is open for kids to enjoy numerous activities. Face painting, music, fitness displays and activities, rides, moon walks, and more are a few of the activities available.
KIDS CRITERIUM/BIG WHEEL RACES
The Twilight Kids Criterium features races for kids ages 5-14. To participate you need a bike and a helmet. Bike races are run in heats of between 4 and 7 kids at a time starting at 11:30 am. Racers are grouped by age, type bike and gender. All kids receive medals, t-shirts (with entry fee), a prize package, and recognition for their acheivement. They are all invited back to ride in the Kids Criterium Parade lap at 7:15 pm. All riders returning for this should meet at the Kids Zone on the 300 Block of College Avenue at 7:00 pm.
Kids 5 and under on trikes or big wheels ride in their own race. The Twilight Big Wheel Race is recognized as the worlds largest big wheel race for kids. This event is on College Avenue in front of City Hall at 12 pm. Kids need a Big Wheel or trike (a few loaners are available) and of course a helmet.
Don't miss the PRO rider tour to area schools. The week prior to the Twilight, riders will be visiting area schools talking about their experience as a cyclist, showing off their equipment and encouraging kids safety and fitness through lifetime individual participation sports. All participants are invited back to ride a Kids Criterium Parade, a one-lap ride around the Twilight Criterium course in front of the crowd.
