Terrapin Wake 'N Bike Ride
About the event:
You don't have to be fast.
You just can't fold.
Ready to take a gamble? Join hundreds of other cyclists for a 50 or 100 kilometer ride through northeast Georgia's rolling countryside
Get a playing card when you start, three along the way at three checkpoints that have water, snacks, and other refreshments, and a final card will be given at the end of the ride to complete the hand. Cyclists with the best hands win prizes!
This year, the ride will finish at the Terrapin Brewery, and a Tour of the Brewery is included with your entry, as well as a t-shirt! Join your friends or intimidate other riders with a poker face and a good time.
Entry forms can be dropped off at Georgia Cyclesport - 1029 Baxter Avenue - Athens - or register online or by mail. Check back for information about prizes and awards location.
Are you a triathlete? Then try your hand at the Twiathlon - a 5k run, 50k/100k participation ride, and a tour of Terrapin.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER!
1. Park your car at the brewery. You will be finishing here, so it will be convenient post ride
2. From the brewery, take a right on Newton Bridge Road, go straight at the light. This turns in to Barber Street, goes under the Athens Perimeter. Take a left on Prince Avenue and proceed to the start downtown on Washington Street at College.
3. Registration/number pick-up will be in the lower level of the parking deck on College Avenue starting at 7:00am.
4. Please make sure you leave the brewery with enough time to pick-up your number (if you did not get it on Friday night) and to make the start. It is only a ten minute ride, but you never know.
5. Maps that will be included at the start and in packet pickup will guide you to the brewery where the ride ends and the fun begins.
6. Please change into regular clothes and shoes after the ride and before your tour. You will need your number and driver's license to gain access to the tour.
