Downtown

Directions
To obtain directions from your starting location to downtown Athens, please click the yellow Downtown Athens push pin icon in the map above and then click Directions to input your starting location.

Parking
There are several parking decks (watch those roof racks) around downtown Athens. Each deck is designated by a "P" icon in the map above.

• The College Avenue Parking Deck ($) in the center of downtown will be open all day Friday and until 4:00 PM Saturday, with entrance into the deck limited to College Avenue off Clayton Street each day. The deck will be completely closed from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM Saturday, so any cars in prior to the 4:00 PM closing will not be able to exit until after 11:00 PM.


• The Courthouse Parking Deck ($) will be open the entire weekend and is accessible off Hancock Avenue between Jackson Street and Thomas Street.


• The North Campus Parking Deck on the University of Georgia campus will be open and free to use Saturday. The deck will also be open Friday, though UGA classes will be in session and spaces will be limited until 5:00 PM. Please visit the university's Parking Services website for parking fees for Friday.


• The Foundry Street Parking Deck ($) is adjacent to the Classic Center and open to the public.

AM Races

The Jittery Joe's Twilight AM Races take place just east of downtown Athens along the Oconee River Greenway. Parking is available in the Foundry Street Parking Deck ($) and at Dudley Park. Due to the closure of streets for the AM Races, access to parking at Dudley Park is limited. Airport Info

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the closest major airport. It is located off I-285 West in Atlanta and is 80 miles from Athens. All major car rental companies are available on site at the airport. AAA Airport Express ($34 one way, $63 round trip) and Groome Transportation ($34 one way, $63 round trip) offer shuttle service between Athens and Hartsfield-Jackson.

Limited air service is also provided by Georgia Skies through Athens-Ben Epps Airport.
